Non Employee Board Members

Elizabeth Bankowski  Ms. Bankowski is a Senior Director at Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc. Until June of 1999, she also served as a member of the company's Board of Directors. Prior to joining Ben & Jerry's in 1991, she served as Chief of Staff to then Governor Madeleine M. Kunin, whose campaign she managed in 1984. Ms. Bankowski served on the transition team for President-elect Bill Clinton in 1992. She is a Director of The Windham Foundation and of The Brattleboro Retreat. She has also served as a Trustee of Bennington College and as a Director of Businesses for Social Responsibility, a national assocation. Ms. Bankowski is a graduate of Boston College and attended graduate school at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Joseph W. Constance  Mr. Constance presently operates Keyline, Inc., a holding company for tool lines sold through industrial distribution. He was formerly founder and owner of Titex Tools, Inc., which he recently sold to Sandvik, a large Swedish conglomerate. Prior to his 18 years developing Titex Tools, Inc. he was Group Vice President with Bendix Corporation and ran the Tools & Abrasives Group. Prior to that he was General Manager of the International Group of Ingersol-Rand. He is Past President of the MCTI, (Metal Cutting Tool Institute), Past Director of ASMMA (The American Supply & Machinery Manufacturers Association). He is currently a Trustee of Greenfield Community College. He is a graduate of Yale University.

Ernest W. Gibson III  Judge Gibson is a retired Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court, where he served from 1983 to 1997. Prior to that he served as Superior Judge from 1972 to 1983, and was Chairman of the Vermont Public Service Board from 1963 to 1972. From 1961 to 1963 he represented the Town of Brattleboro in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee in 1963. He was State's Attorney for Windham County from 1957 to 1961. Educated at Yale University (1951) and Harvard Law School (1956), he served in the United States Army in 1945 and 1946, and again from 1951 to 1953, when he was artillery officer with the 45th (Thunderbird) Division in Korea. He was formerly Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont from 1977 to 1998, and President of the Board of Trustees of the Diocese from 1991 to 1998.

Peter A. Sherlock  Mr. Sherlock, a Chartered Financial Analyst, is the President of an investment advisory firm, Sherlock Investment Management, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts. In addition to his investment advisory and consulting work, Mr. Sherlock is a trustee at the Brattleboro Retreat, a member of the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board, and serves on the Board as Secretary of the Vermont Education and Health Buildings Financing Agency.
